Daily Journal - May 24, 25, 26, 27, 2006
Wednesday - May 24, 2006 - I woke up really early and took out all
the stuff that we didn't put in the dumpster.  Then, a line of
thunderstorms rolled through.  We only got 1/8 of an inch of rain.
Of course, I had to move all of the plants off the deck just in case
we got some wind.  Now, we're supposed to be getting the warm
weather that was out west.  Sounds good to me!!

Yesterday, I had to change the hanging plants at the cemetery
because it seems as though the ones I put in there last week
have to be watered daily.  So, I put some begonias on the
shepherd hooks.  They're a lot hardier and if I'm not able to water
them, they won't get all brown and ugly.

It now feels like Florida outside - it's warm, a little humid and
wonderful.  I see the sun, so I've got to be going now.  I started this
a long time ago.  Now it's 2 pm.  Yikes!   see ya later, djb

P.S.  They're supposed to get the dumpster today or tomorrow but
I'm on their list!!
Andrew & Jarrett's pond garden about 10 minutes ago
The white iris is on the top and my
new rose is on the bottom - lovely!
The dumpster is full but not overflowing!
Thursday, May 25, 2006 - Tonight is Senior Honor's Night at
Kaneland High School - we'll be there!  Coincidentally, I found
these pictures of Jarrett's first grade class this morning!  They
crack me up.  I notice that Jarrett's standing next to Jessica!
That's cute.  It's probably illegal to take pictures of the kids
anymore.  I think everything is illegal......

They still haven't picked up the dumpster!  You'd think they'd
want to get it back in case someone else wants to use it so
they can make some money$$   We can keep it for another
week but what's the point.  It's full.  Maybe I should throw
some more STUFF away!!!!  That's not a bad idea.

All right, enough chit chat.  I have to work on my speech.  I
read it to Bob last night and it didn't sound half bad.  I'm
looking forward to seeing Jarrett's classmates.  I wish he was
here to be with them. bye, djb

classmates goofing
around.  Notice the
ANGEL above Jarrett's
head.  Kind of weird...
Friday, May 26, 2006 - My mother taught me a simple truth:  If you have nothing good to say about someone, don't say anything.  I will
answer the following questions truthfully about our experience last evening at Kaneland High School Senior Honor's Night.

How were you treated by the school at Senior Honor's Night?  answer_________________________________________

How were the students?
WONDERFUL, we love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     The kids "GET IT" - the adults don't - that's why I love the kids.

How many plaques did you give out?   ZERO (0)

How many checks did you give out?  ZERO (0) (this would be OUR money that we gave to the school so we could give it to the
kids!)

How many thank you cards did you give out?  TWENTY (20) - because I prepared them MYSELF ahead of time, otherwise, we would
have had nothing to give to the students except a hug and our best wishes.

How would you rate your experience on a scale of 0-100?    STUDENTS:  100+         SCHOOL:   MINUS 100 BELOW ZERO

I can't really say what I want to say since this website is rated G because I know that Alyssa reads it.  To say that Bob and I were
stunned, incredulous and enormously disappointed, would be a gross understatement.  To say that some of these "educators"
define HUBRIS is being kind.  Last night, I told the students to be kind, so I must be kind even though I'm extremely ANNOYED, and
I'd like to express my displeasure in an unladylike way, but I can't do that.  Some day, I'll laugh at this.  That will be right after I see
Andrew and Jarrett and ask them WHY they left me.  I'm guessing that once I die, I can then ask WHY questions and get answers.
God bless all the children - here, there - wherever they are!   amen.  see ya later, djb
Saturday, May 27, 2006 - I just erased a long and winding diatribe.  Remember to be
kind.  Remember to be kind.

I have to go outside and vacuum the green carpet.  I may or may not be back later.  I
have miles to walk before I sleep.  God bless Robert Frost.

God bless the students!  God bless me.  Amen.

see ya later, djb

P.S.  I came across this card today.  I totally LOVE to see their signatures..... because
I'll never see new ones again.  I keep that love from them in my heart.
This is the  picture of Jarrett's
first grade class that was on the
Home Page the other day.  I love
seeing Jarrett next to Jessica.
She has grown up to be a fine
young beautiful woman.  She
will do wonderful things in the
world.  Especially since she has
Jarrett watching over her!!!!
later Sunday evening (5/27) - I forgot to wish Zoe a happy birthday.  HAPPY
BIRTHDAY TO ZOE.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!   Love you, Zoe!!!

Tomorrow, the story about the Andrew and Jarrett Scholarship is going to be in
the paper.  We're anxious to see it.  Maybe I'll stay up until midnight so I can see it.
 That's funny.  nighty night, djb
