Monday, January 9, 2012 - I'm getting
ready to go into Wheaton Eye Clinic to get
my annual full-blown eye checkup where
he looks at everything in my eyeballs --
including in the back of them!
Yikes! The last time I was in there to get
my floaters checked on, I was seriously
dilated. It was like driving home with
waxed paper over my eyes.
Thankfully, I made it home. However, that
day was cloudy. Today is sunny.
And trying to drive home in sunshine
would be asking for trouble. Don't need
that.
Last week, I got all 37,000 pictures moved
and I'm now going through them to see
what I've been missing out on.
It's so much fun to see them again. Like
when this photo caught my eye, I decided
that it must be posted. Not sure who
everyone is anymore. djb

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 - Okay, we're ALREADY in
double digits. This year is flying by! I'm trying to learn
how to get my garbage out at 5 p.m. on Tuesday instead

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 - We're getting ready
for Snowmageddon. Since we haven't had that much
snow this year, everyone's starting to freak out about the
2-6 inches that are forecast for tomorrow. It is January.
This morning, I came across the picture from Jarrett's
birthday last year. I must be losing it -- I can't believer I
forgot to get him some balloons to make it more festive.
What a knucklehead I am!
Speaking of people who use that term.... Bergy is having
his cataract surgery today. I was going to call him about
something else. Then, when I remembered last night, it
was too late. I didn't want to bother him if he had to get
up early. Both Granny and I have had the recent
cataract surgery. Grandpa had it about 27 years ago.
I'm getting ready to go to the store and stock up on
supplies for the STORM. OMG!! It's going to snow.
Hopefully, Denny and Avis will be up and back from
Rockford before the worst of it hits. (fingers crossed)
It's 50 degrees again here today. We do enjoy it. In a
few days, it'll be very cold and snowy. Just like winter.

Thursday, January 12, 2012 - It's snowing as I write this just before
3 p.m. We're supposed to get anywhere from 6 to 8 inches of snow.
Apparently, the heaviest snow will arrive during the night. oh boy!
I'll have to stay up and take pictures. Maybe the moon will be
lighting the sky...
I'm getting psyched up to go out and shovel the driveway. We'll see
how far I get. Usually by this time in the season, I've already
shoveled snow 10 times. This year is weird.
At least, I can take pictures of the snow. Bob can always use the
snow blower. I've never learned how to use it. That thing is too
jarring to my bones -- and it's noisy. I prefer a scrape, scrape,
scrape to a roar, roar, roar!!
Talked to Bergy yesterday, and he was recovering quite well from his
first cataract surgery. They didn't use a patch. In fact, I've known
others who weren't patched up. But I was. Of course, that was 16
years ago. times change.
In fact, I was looking for the photo with me wearing my patch, when I
came across the above picture from January 1967. Okay, that was
45 years ago!!!! WHAT?? yikes!
Miss Poser was pretending to pour coffee into Diane's toy coffee
cup, plus, it looks like I got a new purse. And is that a new mixer?

picture this morning while I was waiting for my
System Restore to work. It didn't.
When a person's computer is working okay,
you kind of forget how to do things that you
don't do every day.
I have other pictures during this visit, but I
haven't ever scanned this one. You can
probably tell what year it is by the way the
back yard looks.
It doesn't look like a jungle......yet! haha
WOW! I JUST REMEMBERED that today's the
day that Grandpa Burkholder died ten years
ago.
